Telefónica and Nokia have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the adoption of private 5G networks within the Spanish business sector. The initiative aims to facilitate the transition to an Industry 4.0 model and expedite the digital transformation of enterprises in a straightforward and efficient manner.

Over the next three years, this collaboration will grant Spanish businesses access to a wide array of Nokia solutions, encompassing digitalization in the cloud (Nokia Digital Automation Cloud), private mobile networks (Modular Private Wireless), edge computing for industrial applications (MX Industrial Edge), and industrial devices.

These offerings will leverage Telefónica Spain's robust network infrastructure, complemented by its expertise as a national operator, and will include consulting, maintenance, big data analytics, and IoT connectivity capabilities through Telefónica Tech. This collaboration strategically positions Telefónica and Nokia to support companies comprehensively in their digital journey.

Adrián García Nevado, Director of Enterprises at Telefónica Spain, highlighted that the collaboration with Nokia aligns with their vision to empower industries with advanced technology. He further emphasized that artificial intelligence (AI) and data utilization are pivotal in driving innovation forward. This strategic initiative builds on over 90 use cases developed thus far.

Rolf Albrecht, European Head of Enterprise Campus Edge Business at Nokia, continued, "This exciting collaboration with Telefónica will continue to enable enterprises to pave the way to digitization. Our private wireless and edge on-premise computing solutions are designed to meet the mission-critical needs of asset-intensive industries, providing them with benefits beyond connectivity, including increased worker safety and reduced emissions, according to our latest 2024 report for industrial digitization."

5G technology facilitates enhanced interconnectivity among smart devices, enabling real-time collection, monitoring, and analysis of crucial business data. This capability enhances efficiency and sustainability in manufacturing processes. Private networks leveraging 5G ensure high-quality service through prioritized communications and enable specific functionalities such as low-latency communication.
