Orange and Nokia have announced an extension of their collaboration, which will focus on enhancing network programmability and monetization utilizing Nokia’s Network as Code platform.
Nokia’s platform, featuring a developer portal, will enable developers to avail themselves of Software Development Kits (SDKs) and extensive Network API documentation, and offers a 'sandbox' environment for simulation and testing.

Leveraging the Global Developer Ecosystem
By integrating Nokia’s Network as Code platform with the Orange Developer Portal, developers will gain improved access to Orange’s commercial network API capabilities. This integration aims to expedite the creation and implementation of novel applications, thereby leveraging the expansive global developer ecosystem.
This collaborative effort is expected to drive technological advancements and provide developers with the tools they need to innovate and monetize new 5G and 4G use cases more effectively.

Laurent Leboucher, Group CTO at Orange, noted the significance of this collaboration, "We are very pleased to open another area of collaboration with Nokia that enables compelling business use cases to consume our network assets in ways that were not really feasible years ago.
“Today, the level of collaboration among operators, system integrators, developers, and partners, is a step change and this is positioning us to better tap the cloud-native capabilities built into Orange’s 5G network."

Standardized Commitment to Innovation
The platform adheres to technical standards established by industry initiatives like the GSMA Open Gateway initiative and the Linux Foundation, CAMARA, in which both Nokia and Orange actively participate.

With Orange already implementing these standards and launching the first commercial-grade APIs in France and Spain, this collaboration paves the way for wider deployment and innovation throughout Europe.
Nokia’s Network as Code platform forms part of a comprehensive strategy to harmonize telco networks, systems integrators, and software developers globally, aiming to unleash the full potential of 5G and 4G networks. This initiative aligns with Nokia’s existing collaboration agreements with 12 network operators and ecosystem partners worldwide.
